It's been a long time.....

It's been a long time......

Since I managed to get to either of the knitting groups I normally go to.  This has been due to a change in jobs.  Don't get me wrong I love my new job and wouldn't change it for the world, I've just had to hit the ground running with it which has eaten into my free time.....

It's been a long time.......

Since I bought any yarn!  I know this is something which would normally warrant my friends taking me to the doctors to check I'm ok.  However it's been down to the change in jobs as well.  Why? Well....

It's been a long time.......

Since I got paid.  By changing jobs and types of contracts I've got a gap of 2 1/2 months between pay packets.  Payment times are different etc etc and as I result I'm currently living on savings and friends feeding me.  Fortunately this period of enforced austerity is coming to an end this coming week.

It's been a long time.......

Since I've been able to go shopping.  Real shopping.  Not the mooch about and try not to get upset that my friends are buying yarn and things while I'm having to scrimp to have enough money to buy tea.  My list of things to buy is getting longer but is headed by simple things like tights, new knickers, decent shampoo and a new head for my mop!  I've also been virtual yarn shopping and have a nice little list of things I want to buy for dyeing.

It's also been a long time........

Since I finished a knitting project.  This has mainly been down to my lack of free time and my current project being a lace shawl for my mother.  It's out of one of my own dyed yarns and while the colours aren't me I hope they'll suit her.  But sshhhhhh don't say anything cos it's a surprise pressie ;-)

This is the yarn called Salmon Falls a 2 ply 100% BFL sock yarn.  I'll post the finished shawl when I get it completed and blocked.

  1. I'm looking forward to seeing that shawl complete :)

I think I'd have gone bonkers in two and a half months with no paypacket - well done!
